E-learning for rural boys and girls

Srei Sahaj e-Village, a subsidiary of Srei Infrastructure and Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) plan to collaborate to provide distance leaerning programs to villages in rural India. While unsurprising, it is a very serious issue as “[t]he net enrollment ratio of the rural youth stands at a mere 7.48 percent for boys and 4.5 percent for girls, which is remarkably lower than 17.84 percent and 16.9 percent respectively for urban boys and girls.”  [Source: SiliconIndia]

Through the use of Sahaj’s Common Service Centers coupled with IGNOU’s accredidation for every course, the partnership will be able to provide much needed mediums for education at 12,000 locations.

Count me in this noble cause. I strongly believe that educating people is perhaps the easiest step that can be taken to bring a positive change in their lives. I’m working with a online program which basically helps students but I can join hands with your staff and help them design an appropriate course outline for less privileged youth in rural areas.
